Hello Falconridge Families,

This week, we were fortunate to have Tyler and Justin from Elevat8 Lacrosse at Falconridge School for a two-day lacrosse residency.  The ELEV8 Classroom Lacrosse® program introduces the sport of lacrosse and educates students on the origin and Indigenous roots of the sport in Canada and North America.  The student-centred program ensures that students are actively involved. ELEV8® Professional coaches and National Lacrosse League players lead and instruct the customizable ELEV8 Classroom Lacrosse® program.  Beyond the basics of lacrosse, students learned important values like teamwork and integrity while building on physical skills fundamental to any sport.  ELEV8® Lacrosse is fully equipped to provide the necessary lacrosse equipment (real lacrosse sticks, soft balls) to our classes and instruct in an indoor gym or outdoor setting (early fall | spring).  Please read below for important school updates

School Surveys

1. School Planning Feedback Survey

We know we make better decisions to support student learning when we build understanding and work together. That’s why we are asking you to share your perspectives about our school development plan, school budget and school fees. The survey is open from March 5 to March 31, 2025. Please click here to complete the survey or scan the QR code below.

Watch this short video to learn about the planning work schools do to improve and support student learning. Your input is important to us, and we appreciate you taking the time to share your perspectives.

2. Assurance Survey | Grade 4

In its ongoing commitment to providing a world-class education for Alberta’s children, Alberta Education will once again conduct its annual survey of grade 4 students and their parents or guardians. This survey will gather essential information about students’ and parents’ school experiences, helping to drive continuous improvements in our education system. This survey will remain open from February 18, 2025, to March 21, 2025.

Parents or guardians of grade 4 students should have received an email from School Improvement containing a link to the survey along with a unique Random- Access Code and detailed instructions. We strongly encourage all eligible parents and guardians to participate and share their feedback on their children’s education. Survey participants will be asked about various topics, including:

• creating welcoming, caring, respectful, and safe learning environments;
• student learning engagement; and
• parental involvement in children’s education.

If you require a paper survey or one in another language, such as Ukrainian, Punjabi, Cree, Korean, Denesųłįné, Tagalog, Chinese, Spanish, Arabic, or Urdu, please reach out to the school via email or phone.

By completing the survey, you are assisting Alberta Education, CBE, and our school in identifying both areas of strength and areas that need improvement. Please ensure that you complete the survey by March 21, 2025.

3. CBE Student Survey | Grades 5-6

Falconridge will be participating in an online school perception survey for students called the CBE Student Survey. Information has been sent to families this week. For any inquiries, please reach out to Mrs. Neufeld.

Healthy Hunger

Throughout the year, School Council has arranged for our Fun Lunch program through Healthy Hunger. This month, we have two dates:

  • March 12 - Little Caesars (Orders Due Friday, March 7)
  • March 20 - Subway (Orders Due Saturday, March 15)

To place an order, please log into your Healthy Hunger account and add your children’s names for Falconridge School. You will need to do this again every year even if you ordered food last year. Please ensure you choose the correct grade and teacher when registering your child, and then order lunches.

School Conferences

Parent-teacher conferences are fast approaching! Conferences provide an excellent opportunity to meet between families and teachers to discuss student academic progress and goals.  For March, all interviews will be online using the Microsoft Teams platform. When you book an appointment, an email will be sent to you with a link to the meeting.

Our interview dates and times are:

  • Thursday, March 20 from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm
  • Friday, March 21 from 8:00am – 1:00pm

Bookings open for parents on March 12 at 6:00pm through the MyCBE Application.

Lost and Found

Have you misplaced something? Be sure to check the Lost & Found before it's too late! Any unclaimed items will be donated on March 21. Visit the Lost & Found today to reclaim your belongings. We will be moving the Lost and Found into the front hallway to make it easier for families to look through lost items.

Morning School Timing Reminder

A reminder that school doors are opened at 8:15 am every day for soft entry. Students that are not in the breakfast program are asked to not arrive until this time as we do not have morning childcare or supervision. If you need to drop off your child early occasionally, please inform the office and we will allow them to wait inside with the breakfast program students. This is only for occasional situations and not every day.
