Falconridge School was built in 1982 and serves the community of Falconridge. At our school we believe that all children can be successful. Our teachers craft personalized learning experiences that connect to the Alberta Program of Studies.  We aim to create a rich literacy environment where students develop necessary decoding skills based upon the Science of Reading.  We want to create learning in all areas of the curriculum that are worthy of children’s’ time and attention.  At Falconridge School we embed assessment to guide instruction and learning.  We build strong relationships and want every member of our school community to feel a sense of belonging.

Falconridge School has 24 classrooms, a learning commons, a gymnasium, music room, conference rooms, and several acres of school yard. A naturalization area was developed on the east end of the school property to provide opportunities for rich, first hand contact with nature.  Falconridge School is involved in several CBE initiatives including being involved with the comprehensive school health initiative and the CBE Sustainability initiative.  At Falconridge School, we recognize the importance of connecting our students to the world around them.  We do this through field trips, extracurricular activities, and engaging experts.

Guiding Principles

Through discovery and exploration, we will empower P.R.O.U.D. learners to become courageous leaders.

  • Personalized: I will know the passions of my students and broaden my perspective of diverse communication possibilities.
  • Relationships: I will create significant relationships because without significant relationships there is no significant learning.
  • Ownership: I will take responsibility for each and every student's learning. No excuses.
  • United: I will work to facilitate an environment where we support each other as professional learners.
  • Dedicated: I will continually reflect on my work as I develop the most promising practice for the success of all students.

School Development Plan

Each year, our school prepares a development plan with input from teachers, school staff, students and parents. We review many sources of data, including report cards, provincial achievement test results and school surveys. Based on this information, we create our plan identifying targeted areas for growth. Our school development plan is not meant to represent all of the work that takes place in our school, but rather it focuses on specific areas for improvement.

School Improvement Results Report

Our school also prepares a results plan, which looks at our previous school year. It shows our students’ achievement and progress in meeting the goals and outcomes as set out by the CBE and Alberta Education, outlines some of the highlights of our school development plan and gives an overview of our school. You can look on the CBE website for system-wide results.
