Hello Falconridge Families,
As the colder months approach, we want to remind everyone about the importance of dressing appropriately for winter weather. Proper clothing helps ensure comfort and safety, whether you're walking to school or enjoying outdoor activities during the school day.
Here are a few tips to stay warm and safe:
- Layer Up – Wear multiple layers to help trap warmth. Start with a moisture-wicking base layer, followed by insulating layers, and top it off with a waterproof, windproof outer layer like a winter coat.
- Warm Accessories – Don’t forget your hat, gloves, scarf, and warm socks. These accessories are key to keeping extremities warm and protected from the cold.
- Footwear – Make sure to wear sturdy, waterproof boots with good traction to prevent slipping on icy sidewalks.
- Stay Dry – Wet clothing can quickly lead to discomfort and even hypothermia in extreme cold. Be sure to wear waterproof outerwear, especially on rainy or snowy days.
- Pack Extra – Pack extra socks and pants in case these get wet, if appropriate.
By dressing appropriately for the winter weather, we can help ensure that everyone stays healthy, safe, and ready to learn. Thank you for your attention to this matter, and we look forward to a safe and enjoyable winter season.
Please read on for important information and upcoming dates.
Casino Update
Parent council has notified us that our next casino is on April 7th and 8th. The money we receive from our casino fundraiser helps our school to pay for teacher discretionary budgets, bussing, swimming, technology, residencies and more. However, we need parent volunteers in order for us to make the event a success. Therefore, parent council is asking that you do the following:
- Post the link to sign up for registration on your google classroom
- https://www.signupgenius.com/go/5080D44A5AB2CA7FA7-60697702-falconridge
- You mention the school’s need for volunteers for the upcoming casino during your conferences, where possible
- You print and have available a volunteer schedule sign-up sheet for parents to sign up in-person during conferences

Parent Council Hot Chocolate Day
We are pleased to share that on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, our Parent Council will be hosting a Hot Chocolate Day for all students. On this day, every child will be offered a cup of hot chocolate.
Students will also have the option to choose one of the following toppings:
- Whipped cream (dairy option)
- Coconut whipped cream (non-dairy option)
The ingredients being used for this event include:
- Carnation Hot Chocolate
- Kirkland Whipped Cream
- Coconut Whipped Cream
If you have previously informed the school of any food allergies that conflict with these ingredients, we will ensure that your child does not receive hot chocolate and/or toppings.
If you do not want your child to participate in Hot Chocolate Day or receive a whipped topping, please notify your child’s teacher as soon as possible.
We would also like to thank our Parent Council in advance!
Healthy Hunger Dates are Posted for the School Year
Healthy Hunger is a fantastic program that brings in outside vendors for students each month. At Falconridge School, our School Council has organized Healthy Hunger dates from September – June! Our next Healthy Hunger dates are:

Please log into your Healthy Hunger account to register your child and place orders. Be sure to select the correct grade and teacher. The Healthy Hunger website can be found here.
Dress For the Weather
We would like to remind families that students need to come to school properly dressed for the winter weather. As the weather gets colder and wet, students need to have the following items:
- Winter hat
- Mittens/gloves
- Winter boots
- A proper winter jacket.
Despite the cold weather, will be going outside at our morning break for 15 minutes and at lunch for 20 minutes, unless there has been a weather advisory stating that we cannot go outside or if the temperature drops below -20 Degrees Celsius.
Parking and Safe Driving
We appreciate everyone’s efforts to keep our school community safe during drop-off and pick-up times. Please take note of the following important reminders:
- Street Parking: When parking along the street, ensure you are following all posted signs and leaving space for traffic to flow safely.
- Apartment Complex Parking: The parking stalls in the apartment complex off the back alley opposite the school are reserved for residents only. It is essential that residents can access their spots and come and go freely. Please do not use these spaces for school pickup or drop-off.
- No U-Turns: For everyone’s safety, please avoid making U-turns during busy drop-off and pickup times. These maneuvers create dangerous situations for students and other drivers. Instead, use designated routes and drive with caution.
- Staff Parking Lot: The staff parking lot is reserved for school staff. Using this lot for student pickup or drop-off creates safety concerns for students walking through the area. Please help us keep this space clear.
Thank you for your cooperation in making our school a safe and respectful environment for all.
