Hello Falconridge Families,

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who made the school conferences on November 28 and 29 such a resounding success. It was truly wonderful to see so many families, teachers, and staff come together in person to engage in meaningful conversations about our students' growth and progress.

Your commitment to supporting our students is inspiring, and these conferences are a testament to the strong partnerships between school and home. The energy and enthusiasm in the school halls were palpable, and it was clear that each individual present is deeply invested in helping our students reach their full potential. We are grateful for the warm, collaborative atmosphere that makes Falconridge such a special place to learn and grow.

Please read on for important information and upcoming dates.

Safety during drop-off/pick-up times

We have designated zones for pick up and drop off of students, to ensure safety for our students and community. Please do not block the entrance of the school parking lots when dropping off students, or do illegal u-turns in the residential intersections. We want to make sure students can cross the street safely.

Please also note that, in front of the school we have a handicap bus zone for our specialized setting class. Making sure that our bus drivers have access to this space makes a huge difference to the safety of these students.

Thank you for your understanding in this important safety matter!

Child and Youth Well-Being Family and Caregiver Series

The Calgary Board of Education invites all parents and guardians to join us in a pre-recorded and live online series focusing on child and youth well-being. These sessions will be hosted in partnership with experts from Alberta Health Services and Recovery Alberta and will explore topics such as Peer Pressure, Healthy Relationships, Mental Health for Highly Sensitive Teens, and navigating Parent-Teen relationships.

Acting on feedback from participants who joined us during our live online sessions over the past two years, moving forward we invite all guardians and parents to listen to the pre-recorded or live sessions at their convenience.

Dress For the Weather

We would like to remind families that students need to come to school properly dressed for the winter weather. As the weather gets colder and wet, students need to have the following items:

  • Winter hat
  • Mittens/gloves
  • Winter boots
  • A proper winter jacket.

Despite the cold weather, will be going outside at our morning break for 15 minutes and at lunch  for 20 minutes, unless there has been a weather advisory stating that we cannot go outside or if the temperature drops below -20 Degrees Celsius.
