Hello Falconridge Families,

We have had a stretch of warm, spring like days that have allowed for outside learning and our students to explore the field without snow and ice (though maybe a few puddles)! As with all months, the weather can change quickly so please ensure that you don’t tuck away the winter gear quite yet!

Also, please note that Falconridge School will be closed from February 12 to February 16 for the Teachers' Convention and the Family Day holiday. We hope everyone enjoys this time with family and friends.

Please read on for important updates and reminders.

Morning School Timing Reminder

A reminder that school doors are opened at 8:15 am every day for soft entry. Students that are not in the breakfast program are asked to not arrive until this time as we do not have morning childcare or supervision. If you need to drop off your child early occasionally, please inform the office and we will allow them to wait inside with the breakfast program students. This is only for occasional situations and not every day.

School Dance Update

Falconridge School Council has been working hard planning a spring dance. This dance is scheduled for Thursday February 26. Please see the Valentines Day Dance Flyer, posted at the school and emailed out, for information.

School Council Meeting | February 17

Falconridge has a strong parent population and would like to expand the number of parents that attend our School Council meetings. Parent Council is an integral part of the school experience as it allows our community to come together and make decisions about school decisions. Whether joining their executive or just attending the meetings as an interested parent, all are welcome.

The next School Council date is Tuesday February 17, 2026 Online OR in the Falconridge School Learning Commons at 6:00 PM.

Online attendees can use the link provided here to Join the meeting.

School Surveys

  1. Assurance Survey | Grade 4

In its ongoing commitment to providing a world-class education for Alberta’s  children, Alberta Education will once again conduct its annual survey of grade 4 students and their parents or guardians. This survey will gather essential information about students’ and parents’ school experiences, helping to drive continuous improvements in our education system. This survey will remain open until the March break.

Parents or guardians of grade 4 students should have received an email from  School Improvement containing a link to the survey along with a unique Random-Access Code and detailed instructions.

We strongly encourage all eligible parents and guardians to participate and share   their feedback on their children’s education. Survey participants will be asked about various topics, including:

• creating welcoming, caring, respectful, and safe learning environments;
• student learning engagement; and
• parental involvement in children’s education.

If you require a paper survey or one in another language, such as Ukrainian,  Punjabi, Cree, Korean, Denesųłįné, Tagalog, Chinese, Spanish, Arabic, or Urdu, please reach out to the school via email or phone.

By completing the survey, you are assisting Alberta Education, CBE, and our school in identifying both areas of strength and areas that need improvement. Please ensure that you complete the survey by March 20, 2026.

2. CBE Student Survey | Grades 5-6

Falconridge will be participating in an online school perception survey for  students called the CBE Student Survey. Details of this survey were sent to families on February 10. If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to Kimberly Neufeld, our Assistant Principal, at klneufeld@cbe.ab.ca.

Healthy Hunger

Throughout the year, School Council has arranged for our Fun Lunch program through Healthy Hunger. This month, we have two dates:

  • February 24 - Little Caesars (Orders Due February 19)
  • March 31 - Subway (Orders Due March 26)

To place an order, please log into your Healthy Hunger account and add your children’s names for Falconridge School. You will need to do this again every year even if you ordered food last year. Please ensure you choose the correct grade and teacher when registering your child, and then order lunches.

Grade 1 vaccinations | March 12 AM and PM

Grade 1 students have been sent their immunization forms. Alberta Health Services has asked that we remind families to return these forms as soon as possible.
