Hello Falconridge Families,

It has been a wonderful few weeks at Falconridge School, highlighted by moments that truly reflect the strength of our community. Last Friday, our Grade 5 students led a thoughtful and engaging assembly, and it was fantastic to see families, students, and staff come together. We also recently held our first Falcons Fly‑By Literacy Exchange, where teachers shared their favourite books and visited different classrooms to connect with students across the school. This week, we look forward to connecting with families during School Conferences, and next week students and staff will enjoy a well‑deserved Spring Break. As always, thank you for your continued partnership and support.

Please read on for important updates and reminders.

  • Friday, March 20 – 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM (In Person)

Important Information:

  • Each conference is 15 minutes long.
  • Bookings are now open for parents.
  • Bookings close on March 19 at 12:00 PM.
  • Parents can book conferences through their MyCBE account by clicking on the School Conferences icon.

Please book early to secure a time that works best for your family. We value these opportunities to discuss your child’s progress and learning goals.

Intent to Return to Falconridge School

As we begin planning for the upcoming school year, we kindly ask you complete our Enrolment Intentions Form in SchoolEngage. This form will be accessible later in the day on Monday, March 16 and lets us know whether your child will be:

  • Returning to Falconridge School
  • Attending another school within the Calgary Board of Education
  • Attending a school outside of the Calgary Board of Education

If your child is moving onto a grade our school does not offer, the form will ask you if you are planning on attending your designated school for next year. We will inform your designated school of your intentions.

School locations listed may not be accurate for students who are attending or may be attending specialized classes or unique setting schools. Specifically, for Falconridge families, this will be aplicable for EES students.

Having accurate enrolment information helps us plan staffing, classroom organization, and resources to best support our students. We recognize plans may not be finalized for the 2026-27 school year. Regardless, we ask you to complete the form based on current information and intentions. Completion of the form is not considered a firm commitment.

The Enrollment Intentions form is completed in SchoolEngage. SchoolEngage is one of the applications found in your MyCBE account. This is the same account you use to pay fees, view academic information, book school conferences, etc.
If you do not have a MyCBE account, on the MyCBE page click on Create a MyCBE
Account. For online help, refer to MyCBE - Creating an Account (includes instructions and a video). To complete the Enrolment Intentions Form:

1 | sign in to your MyCBE account

2 | click on the SchoolEngage icon

3 | select the Enrolment Intentions form

4 | complete the form

5 | click on Submit to send the form electronically to the school

We appreciate you taking a few minutes to complete the form by April 3, 2026. If you have any questions, please contact the school office.

Morning School Timing Reminder

A reminder that school doors are opened at 8:15 am every day for soft entry. Students that are not in the breakfast program are asked to not arrive until this time as we do not have morning childcare or supervision. If you need to drop off your child early occasionally, please inform the office and we will allow them to wait inside with the breakfast program students. This is only for occasional situations and not every day.

School Council Update

Falconridge has a strong parent population and would like to expand the number of parents that attend our School Council meetings. Parent Council is an integral part of the school experience as it allows our community to come together and make decisions about school decisions. Whether joining their executive or just attending the meetings as an interested parent, all are welcome.

The next School Council date is Tuesday March 17, 2026 Online OR in the Falconridge School Learning Commons at 6:00 PM.

Online attendees can use the link provided here to Join the meeting.

URGENT | Volunteers Needed!

Schools regularly participate in the operation of casinos as a fundraiser. At Falconridge, this has formed nearly all of our Parent Council budget through the past number of school years. Within the past two years, casino funds have allowed parent council to support our community through the purchase of a SmartBoard, iPads, Computer Carts, Resource Material, Kindergarten and Physical Education materials, Bussing for Field Trips, Swimming support, and so much more! In total, with support through our Casino Funds, our Parent council provided almost $33,000 worth of initiatives and materials to better our students educational experience within the 2024-2025 school year!

Falconridge School is volunteering at Ace Casino Airport (40 Aero Cres NE) on Tuesday, April 7 and Wednesday, April 8, 2026. To make this casino possible, we need many volunteers from our school! You do not need to have a police clearance to volunteer at the casino.

We have 35 required shifts remaining to be filled through the dedication of our parent council and our community’s commitment. Available shifts for sign-up can be seen through the sign-up genius link found here to either click or copy and paste into your browser: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/5080D44A5AB2CA7FA7-60697702-falconridge/91733496

If you would like more information about the volunteer roles at the casino, please see the document attached. There are experienced casino advisors at each shift to help volunteers learn the roles.

You do not need volunteer clearance and training is provided at the beginning of your shift. No experience necessary! That means all parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc. are eligible to volunteer. This is the school's biggest fundraiser, and your help will make it a success!

If there are any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to the school and we can put you in touch with our parent council casino chair.
