Dear Falconridge Families,
It’s hard to believe that winter break is already upon us! It has been such a joy to start the year in such a vibrant school environment.
Reflecting on the first term, it’s clear that it has been an amazing start to the school year. From our Halloween Dance to the exciting start of grade team celebrations with grades 3, 4, and 5 hosting assemblies, there has been so much to celebrate. We’ve also seen fantastic community support, especially from our Parent Council, who have played a key role in organizing fun lunches and supporting our field trips.
One of the highlights of the term has been the launch of our Falcons Fly program, which is already helping to build a strong sense of community across all grade levels. This program, along with the incredible leadership from our PROUD Ambassadors, a group of student leaders, has really helped to bring school spirit to new heights. These young leaders have spearheaded efforts to promote kindness, teamwork, and enthusiasm, and their energy is infectious.
As we reflect on the events of the past few months, one word stands out above all: community. This year, our school has truly embraced the spirit of community. We’ve had many opportunities to come together, whether through multi-age activities, shared clubs such as handbells, Bridge Club, and Friendship Club, or combined field trips and buddy classes. We are continually impressed by how our students collaborate with peers from other classes and offer a helping hand to younger learners.
This year is also especially meaningful to us, as it marks our first year as principal and assistant principal at Falconridge. The welcome we have received from staff, students, and families has been incredible. We feel truly fortunate to be part of this wonderful community, and are excited to continue building on the strong foundation that has been established here.
We would also like to take this opportunity to express our deep gratitude to our teaching and support staff. Every day, they work tirelessly to provide high-quality educational experiences for our students. Their dedication, care, and commitment to each child's success is truly remarkable. It is a privilege to work alongside such a dedicated team.
Finally, we want to express our heartfelt thanks to our students. Their energy, curiosity, and enthusiasm are a constant source of joy. They make every day at Falconridge a bright and rewarding experience. We are so fortunate to be part of their learning journey and thank you for sharing them with us. While we are looking forward to the holiday season ahead, we are also excited to welcome students back after the winter break on January 6, 2025!
As we head into the winter break, we wish you all a season of rest and relaxation, filled with the joy of family and the warmth of togetherness.
With warmest wishes,
Kurt Gordon and Kimberly Neufeld
