Traffic Safety
Ensuring our students get to school safely is everyone’s responsibility. Please be mindful of crosswalks, parking rules and speed limits when you are near our schools, especially during the morning drop-off and afternoon dismissal times.
Traffic Safety Reminders from The City of Calgary
The City wants to remind and encourage anyone who is driving children to school to operate their vehicles safely and responsibly. Parents and guardians are reminded not to park where it’s prohibited during drop off and pick up times, such as blocking crosswalks, laneways and private driveways.
Pick up and drop off times can get quite busy. Give yourself extra time to navigate safely around schools, whether you are walking, wheeling, or driving. For those who drive, help alleviate congestion by parking a block or two away and walking in, wherever possible.
Talk to your kids about safe travel practices like using crosswalks with patrols, looking all ways before crossing the street and not jaywalking across the roadways as a shortcut.

Drop-Off & Pick-Up
Parents are not permitted to drive in to the staff parking lot to drop off or pick up students before and after school. This has become a safety concern for our students as there are many children in close proximity to the parking lot before and after school. This is a dangerous situation and we appreciate your help in not using the staff parking lot at all for pick up or drop off.
In addition, parking stalls are assigned to individual staff people. When parents park in an empty stall in the parking lot, they are taking a space assigned to a teacher.
To help mitigate this issue, we have a drop and go zone in front of the school where parents can drop off students. This is no parking zone but parents may stop and drop their children off.
In addition, we have two school buses that park out front of Falconridge School for our EES students. Please do not park directly in front of the school’s main doors as we need to have space for the school buses.
Staff Parking Lot & Back Alley
Visitors and parents are not permitted to use the staff parking lot or the back alley west of the school playground. Parking stalls are reserved for Falconridge School staff, and the alley parking spots are allocated to the condo owners, as these stalls have been assigned and paid for. Parents need to park in designated zones on the street to drop off and pick up their children.
Soft Entry
Students may enter the school at 8:15 am through the front or West side doors. They may go to their classroom where the teacher will be supervising. Instruction starts at 8:30 am.
