Hello Falconridge Families,
As Fall settles in we would like to remind families to ensure that students are dressed for the weather. On any given day, the temperatures could fluctuate over 20 degrees Celsius while students are in school. Checking the weather and making sure students are prepared for our cool mornings and potentially warm afternoons is essential. We are also approaching our first snowfall of the year and having warm clothing for hands and heads, in addition to coats, is something that parents can begin to think about sending with their child, even if it is just in their backpack.
Please read on for important information and upcoming dates.
Grade 4 Assembly
Each month at Falconridge School, our grades host an assembly so that we can celebrate learning and build school spirit. This month our Grade 4s are hosting a learning assembly on October 17 at 11:00 AM. Grade 4 families can reach out to their childs teacher for details and if they are interested in attending.
Family Dance
The Falconridge Parent Council has been hard at work planning a fun opportunity for families for children 12 and under. On October 24, the Parent Council is excited to host a family dance from 6:00pm – 8:00pm in the school gymnasium. The dance will be a cash only event with a small admission fee used to support the parent council and ultimately Falconridge Elementary. Please see the attached poster for full details.
Healthy Hunger Fun Lunches are back – ORDER DEADLINE IS THIS THURSDAY!
Thank you to our School Council for organizing these great lunches for our students and raising some funds for our school! Our first fun lunch is from Panago and the dates are:
Tuesday October 29 – Kindergarten – Grade 2
Wednesday October 30 – Grades 3 – 6
Please log into your Healthy Hunger account and add your children’s names for Falconridge School. You will need to do this again every year even if you ordered food last year. Please ensure you choose the correct grade and teacher when registering your child, and then order lunches. The cut-off date for our first fun lunch is October 17 so make sure to login as soon as possible.
Off-Site Trips
At Falconridge School, our classes are starting to plan and head out on a number of fieldtrips that require parents. Volunteers are often necessary to ensure field trips go ahead as planned. These are enriching learning experiences for all students and we rely on our parents/guardians to be able to offer these to our students! To ensure you are able to volunteer, please ensure you have a valid police check. Please log in to your MyCBE account à Online School Forms and Registration à Volunteer Registration 2024-25 and follow the steps. If you have any questions, please call the school office.
OurSchool Survey
Falconridge School has been participating in an online school perception survey for students called the OurSCHOOL Student Survey. This anonymous survey is completely voluntary for all CBE students.
CBE’s Education Plan prioritizes student voice and well-being in our decision-making processes. Responses from this survey are used at the system and school level to recognize and improve what is necessary for students to feel safe, welcome, and cared for when at school.
Calgary Bridge Foundation for Youth

Halloween at Falconridge School
As in past years, Falconridge School is inviting students to wear their Halloween costumes or Black and Orange on October 31. This year, students are allowed to wear costumes for the entire day, as opposed to just for the second half of the day. When wearing costumes, all masks and accessories are asked to be kept at home as opposed to being worn on the day.
In the afternoon, there will be a parade of costumes for anyone interested and teachers are crafting lessons to integrate the day into math, science, and more. Please check with your child’s teacher or google classroom for additional details of any planned activities.
