Falconridge Families,
As we move into the final full week of September, it is fantastic to feel the energy and engagement from our students, staff, and families. This past week, we held our first Parent Council meeting of the year, and it was fantastic to see such strong interest in supporting our school community. We’re grateful to all who attended and look forward to working together to make this year a great one for our students. As we move through September, there are many important updates and events to share—please read on for details.

School Entry
We want to remind families about our entry times for the day.
Our school begins lessons at 8:30 AM. To accommodate students being on time, Falconridge School’s doors open at 8:15 AM for Soft Entry. At this time, we are able to both supervise and welcome our students as they settle in for the day. Prior to 8:15 AM, our school is not open and therefore we do not have supervision available both outside and inside the building.
Our Breakfast program does occur between 8:00-8:15 AM. At that time, students accessing the breakfast program enter the school through the main door and proceed towards the gym where we have our breakfast program. While eating, students sit and are both served and supervised. Once students are finished eating, they proceed back out of the building and wait until our soft entry time to come inside.
OurSchool Survey
Falconridge will be participating in an online school perception survey for students called the OurSCHOOL Student Survey. Please find the details of the survey implementation below.
Who: Grades 4, 5, & 6
When: Between September 22 – October 3, 2025
Where: Falconridge School
Why: to measure student engagement, increase student involvement & sense of belonging at school
About the OurSCHOOL Student Survey:
- Allows students to share their feedback anonymously on their experiences at school, school environment, and school improvement programs.
- Based on their feedback, students have the opportunity to be involved in action plans fostering increased student engagement
- Participation in the survey is voluntary; however, all students are encouraged to participate.
- The time required to complete the survey may vary, but it is designed to be completed in approximately 35-40 minutes.
Survey measures include such topics as behaviours and attitudes linked to student success, emotional and social well-being and physical health. For more information about the OurSCHOOL Student Survey, please visit The Learning Bar’s website: www.thelearningbar.com.

Student Attendance
Regular attendance is a key factor in student success. If your child will be late or absent, please call the school attendance line. Late students should check in at the office.
Our school day begins at 8:30AM, and attendance is taken promptly as we begin instruction.
Passenger Zone & Safety Reminder
Please observe the updated signage on Falconridge Drive NE. The area directly in front of the school is now a No Parking / Loading Zone. Stay with your vehicle and avoid the accessible parking zone unless authorized. We also encourage families to use crosswalks to ensure safety during busy drop-off and pick-up times.
National Day for Truth and Reconciliation
We are committed to upholding the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s (TRC) 94 Calls to Action specific to education. Our system continues to learn, grow, understand, and honour Indigenous ways of being, belonging, doing and knowing.
This September, we are commemorating the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation (Orange Shirt Day) through the CBE National Truth and Reconciliation Week from Sept. 22 to 26. Falconridge school will wear orange shirts on September 26 and plan activities to learn and understand the significance of the day.
There are no classes on Sept. 30, as a day in-lieu to commemorate the National Day on Sept. 30. By observing the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation (Orange Shirt Day), we reinforce our dedication to ensuring that the stories of survivors are heard, their pain acknowledged, and their strength celebrated.
