Dear Falconridge Families,
What a wonderful first week of school! It has been exciting to see our hallways and classrooms filled with smiling faces, renewed friendships, and students eager to learn. Our staff have worked hard to create welcoming learning environments, and we are grateful for the positive energy students and families have brought to the start of the year.
As we begin another exciting school year together, we encourage families to stay connected through our weekly newsletters, school website, and Instagram account. Building strong partnerships between home and school is an important part of student success, and we look forward to working alongside you throughout the year.
A reminder that there will be no school on Monday, September 7, in recognition of Labour Day. We hope all of our Falconridge families enjoy the long weekend and have an opportunity to relax and spend time together.

Meet the Teacher Evening
September 10th 2026 is Meet the Teacher Night for current Falconridge Families (6:00-7:30pm). This evening is an opportunity to visit the school, meet the teachers, and hear about the year plans for each grade and subject area at Falconridge School. Individual conferences to discuss student progress will occur in November while this evening aims to inform parents about the year as we look to build community. Please look at the information below for details about the evening.
Meet the Teacher
Each grade team will host 3 identical sessions. Families will be able to choose when they visit their children’s classes in order to visit multiple grades if needed.
Families have three session times to choose from:
·6:00pm-6:20pm
·6:30pm-6:50pm
·7:00pm-7:20pm
PE and Wellness will be in the gym (Drop in only)
Music will be in room 8 (Drop in only)
During our meet the teacher evening, our parent council has arranged to have food trucks, cotton candy, and community building outside from 6:00 – 8:00 pm.

Complete Online Forms by September 14
Each year, schools have a variety of forms that parents / legal guardians / independent students are required to complete or review and update, some of which are paper and others online.
If you have already completed your annual forms, you can disregard this email.
In CBE, the forms in an online format (SchoolEngage) are:
- Demographic Verification - 2026-27 – This required form is an Alberta Education and Childcare requirement as proof of Registration for funding purposes and includes your child’s personal information as well as parent / legal guardian contact information.
- Citizenship Information Update - 2026-27 – This form becomes available and is required to complete if you change your child’s citizenship information on the Demographic Verification form.
- Annual Authorization - 2026-27 – Combines the following forms:
o School District Use of Personal Information - explains how CBE uses personal information in providing education services.
o Consent for CBE Use of Student Information – provides an option to grant / not grant consent for additional use of student information by school/district and third parties.
o Consent for Use of Student Information by News Media and Outside Groups (Third Party) - provides an option to grant / not grant consent for additional use of student information by outside groups and third parties
o Consent for Student Participation in Annual CBE Surveys – these surveys support school and system planning and help improve programs and supports offered to students
o Parental Opt-In for Notifiable curriculum for students in grades 3 to 9 – written consent of parents prior to providing instructions or materials that deal primarily and explicitly with human sexuality, gender identity or sexual orientation. Students are unable to participate in this portion of the curriculum unless consent is granted.
SchoolEngage is one of the applications found in your MyCBE account. This is the same account used to pay fees, view academic information, book school conferences, register to volunteer etc.
If you do not have a MyCBE account, click Create a MyCBE Account on the MyCBE page. For online help, refer to MyCBE - Creating an Account (includes instructions and a video).
To complete these forms:
1. sign in to your MyCBE account
2. click on the SchoolEngage icon
3. select the form
4. complete or review and update the form
5. click on Submit to send the form electronically to the school
6. repeat steps 3-5 for each form
Please submit the Demographic Verification and Annual Authorization forms in SchoolEngage for your child by Monday, Sep. 14. These forms are mandatory every year for Alberta Education and Childcare to confirm student funding.

Annual Volunteer Registration Required for All School Volunteers
To ensure the safety and security of CBE students and staff, all volunteers must be registered with the school each school year before participating in volunteer activities.
The Annual Volunteer Registration Form is valid for the current school year only. All volunteers, including returning volunteers, must complete a new registration form each school year before participating in volunteer activities.
Parents and guardians can register as volunteers through the SchoolEngage tab in their MyCBE account. As part of the registration process, all volunteers must review the POPA requirements and sign to indicate their agreement with the conditions outlined in the form.
New This Year: Community members who do not have a child registered with CBE must complete their volunteer registration in person at the school where they wish to volunteer. This change allows school staff to verify that volunteers have reviewed and acknowledged their privacy obligations under Alberta's Protection of Privacy Act (POPA).
Picture Day is Coming September 9, 2026
Lifetouch will be coming to Falconridge School to take photos of all students on September 9, 2026. Information on ordering school pictures will be sent to families in the weeks after photos and will include an online platform for ease of ordering.
Parent Council
Our First School Council and Parent Society meeting will be held in person at Falconridge School on Wednesday, September 16 at 6:00PM. We encourage all parents to attend and be part of important decision-making that impacts all students.
Healthy Hunger Fun Lunches Are Back!
Thank you to our School Council for organizing these great lunches for our students and raising funds for our school!
Our first Fun Lunch is from KFC on September 16.
Please visit https://healthyhunger.ca/ to log into or create your Healthy Hunger account to register your child and place orders. Be sure to select the correct grade and teacher.

Sensory Room Updates
Through generous support from Dakota Comfort, the Embrace International Foundation, and our Parent Council, Falconridge School has been able to improve our sensory room through a variety of regulatory resources and furniture. We are excited to continue this work throughout the 2026-2027 school year as we strive to make Falconridge an even more vibrant place to learn.
Breakfast Program – Beginning September 14, 2026
Falconridge School is pleased to offer a breakfast program for students who do not have access to breakfast at home. This program is generously funded by donations and non-government organizations. Our goal is to ensure that every child starts their day with a healthy breakfast, setting them up for success throughout the day.
Students are invited to join us for breakfast between 8:00AM to 8:15AM, before school begins. Please enter through the front entrance door.
